July Ipsy Glam Bag

Bag: Gotta say, this is one of the cutest bags I've received thus far! I'm such a girly girl, and the hot pink and frill on this bag makes me want to shove it in my purse and never let it go. And it's the perfect size to keep in my purse, or my gym bag, or my desk at work!  That's one thing I love about Ipsy bags: they are a great travel size.  I can fit a mirror, mascara, eyeliner, lipstick, and my nail file all with room to spare!

Pixi Beauty Mini Tinted Brilliance Balm: Apparently this is a tinted lip balm, but my color is such a light pink that I can't really tell any change in color on my lips. I like this because it's very minty, and each time I use it I feel like I have fresher breath.  The sample itself is rather small, but I feel like this may be an advantage because then I can just throw it in my purse and use it when needed throughout the day to moisturize my lips. I don't really have any complaints about this product, but I also don't have any praise for it either.

Models Own Nail Polish in Red Sea: I hate this nail polish. Despise it. It looks like a kindergartner throw up his crayons on my nails. I do not know a girl my age, or any age above 10 for that matter, who would willingly buy this nail polish color. The red itself is sort of translucent, and throughout the color is large chunks of tacky multi-colored glitter. This causes the application of the product to not be as smooth as it could be. It's a full-size product but I mean, come on, this is not an ice skating competition.

bareMinerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow: Could this sample be any smaller? I will barely be able to get five uses out of this tube. It kind of reminds me of the Urban Decay primer potions because it is too light to be an actual color for me, but it is a great base. I don't really use cream eyeshadows by themselves because I feel like they crease too easily. As a base, however, this has worked fairly well for me the one time I've used it.  I guess that this also has SPF 15 but that weirds me out because who wears sunscreen eyeshadow?!

Pur~lisse Pur~Protect Essential Daily Moisturizer: I really like this product.  At first I was afraid because my skin is very sensitive to creams, but this has not done any harm to my skin. It is very light and clean when applied and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy. I also love that it smells like sunscreen because it reminds me of poolside escapades.  The sun protection is SPF 30, which I think is really good for a moisturizer. This sample was a definite win!

Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment: Ever since I started taking the vitamin biotin, I've noticed more acne on my face than usual. Everyday I use a charcoal cleanser and a toner, but this spot treatment is the perfect last step to put on my pimples before bed! Warning: it burns after application. If you have very sensitive skin, I would not recommend you try this treatment.  That being said, if you're tough as nails like me (hah!) I would definitely look into this product.  I've noticed a significance difference in size of my pimples after daily use of this spot treatment. The label reads you can use this up to three times daily, but even just applying once before bed has done wonders for my skin. It's a shame the sample is so small!

Glam Bag Rating....

6/10 This has definitely not been the best Ipsy glam bag I've received, but I know that I will get significant usage out of the samples (except that nail polish). I think the bag itself is adorable, but the product sizes could have been bigger and the theme of the bag could have been tied together more. It was called "Sensationally Sunkissed," so maybe a bronzer or fun eye shadow palette would have been better! And for heaven's sake, a nail polish that is actually CUTE!
